Zelotis Wofford, Sr. Obituary

Zelotis Wofford, Sr. was born on December 24, 1944 to William and Malissie Carter Wofford in rural Arkansas County near Almyra, Arkansas. He came from a very large family and was the thirteenth of fifteen children.

He attended grade school at a small school in the little town of Lookout, Arkansas. He graduated from Immanuel High School in Almyra, Arkansas in 1963. Shortly after high school, he was joined in holy matrimony to Ms. Diane Scaife of Stuttgart, Arkansas where he resided.

Zelotis received Christ and was baptized at a very early age. He was a member of formerly Anointed House of Prayer, now Victors’ Empowerment Center, in Stuttgart under the leadership of Apostle Victor E. and Anita Johnson. He faithfully served in the church as an usher and choir member, as well as a member of the senior saints’ Trail Blazers. In addition, during his home ministry, he ministered to the disadvantaged and disabled, children, and the broken hearted. Zelotis showed love to those in need of any kind of ministering be it spiritual, financial, or motivational. He was known widely in the community by his contributions to public service. He dedicated his life to helping others.

Over the years, Zelotis had several occupations, including a plumber, farmer, a Chrysler Corporation worker, and a Good Year tire service person.

He departed this life on April 28, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers J.D. Holt, Grover Wofford, and Sipio Wofford, and seven sisters Barbara Jean Woods, Georgia Lee Adkins, Annette Cunningham, Mary Wynn, Emily Young, Isabel Love, and Doris Holt.

Zelotis leaves to cherish his memories three sons Zelotis Wofford, Jr. of Stuttgart, AR, Stanley Wofford of Sparta, TN, and Vincent Wofford of Scott, AR; two daughters Carla (Pastor Michael) Washington of Mobile, AL and Lizzie Wofford of Little Rock, AR; fourteen grandchildren Lakeisha L. Wofford, Lavell Wofford, Zelotis B. Wofford, Makayla Wofford, William Wofford, Kathleen Wofford, Chase Wofford, Brittany Wofford, John Moore, Justin (Nicole) Moore, Jordan Moore, Michael Washington, Jaquavion Davis, and Vincent Wofford; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters Esnolia Wofford of Detroit, MI and Marbie Jones of Southfield, MI; one brother Richard (Priscilla) Wofford of Southfield, MI; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

I leave this message on this day of our Lord: Gladly turn my body back to the organic matter from which it came. It is a rejoiceful day for me, for I have come from death into life that is eternal. So rejoice, rejoice, rejoice with me, for I am going for my payday. It is time for my reward from my Father above.
