William Lance Thomasson, Sr. was born on August 16, 1971, in Monticello, Arkansas, to Julia McSwain Thomasson and the late William Oliver Thomasson.
He was educated in Stuttgart, Arkansas, where he graduated from Stuttgart High School. After graduation, William enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country, including during Operation Desert Storm. Following four years of honorable service, he pursued higher education at ITT Technical College, where he earned his Associate Degree.
William accepted Christ at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend D. L. O’Neil.
He was united in marriage to Cordelia, and they shared several years together. He later married Shynetter, and to this union two children were born.
William is preceded in death by his father, William O. Thomasson; his brother, Kenneth E. V. Thomasson; his paternal grandparents, Eric and Alton Thomasson; his maternal grandparents, Verge and Josephine McSwain; his paternal great-grandparents, Pearl and Fannie Hudsepth; and his maternal great-grandparents, Noah and Julia McSwain.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Julia Thomasson of Stuttgart; his wife Shynetter Thomasson of Stuttgart; his children, Tyler Thomasson of Pine Bluff, Ebony Thomasson of North Little Rock, Justin Thomasson of Pine Bluff, William Thomasson, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Elishah and Eden Thomasson of Stuttgart; one brother, Oliver Anthony Thomasson of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Adrienne Thomasson of Stuttgart and Tessa Thomasson of Little Rock; two aunts, Fannie Hill of Stuttgart and Elizabeth McSwain of Little Rock; and two uncles, Verge McSwain of Benton and James Thomasson of St. Louis, MI.
He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friends Jimmy Relfield of Pine Bluff, Cedric McSwain of Little Rock, and Lamar Horns “Soul Man” of Clarendon.
Additionally, he had four bonus sons: the late Devonte M. Sargent, Cody Burnett, Landon Rhodes, and Sy-Marius Wayne Delaney.
William’s life was one of service, family, and faith, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
