Wardell Jones was born on October 30, 1951 to Booker T. and Johnie Beatrice Jones in Holly Grove, Arkansas. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in the comfort of his own home.
He was a graduate of Holly Grove High School, Class of 1968. Wardell worked for Riceland Foods for over 25 years, retiring in 2016.
Wardell enjoyed playing cards and dominoes from time to time, but his greatest passion was watching wrestling. In addition, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, sitting out on the porch, and going for walks.
He claimed hoped in Christ at an early age, then later joined Kingdom Builders Ministries in Holly Grove, under the leadership Dr. Apostle Scot A. Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents Booker T. and Johnie Jones; three brothers Elmo Jones, Gene Edward Jones, and Albert Jones; and four sisters Erma Jean Ketchum, Leralene Ketchum, Onita Sanders, and Althermae Jones.
Wardell leaves to cherish his memories three sons Rodney Hughes of Columbia, MO, Ramon Horne and Ronald Perkins, both of Clarendon, AR; one daughter Shemiah Hampton of Clarendon, AR; a special friend Sherri Betts of Clarendon, AR; two sisters Lendora McNutt of Chicago, IL and Wilma Jean Frazier of Sacramento, CA; one brother Roosevelt Houston of Clarendon, AR; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
