Virgie Lee (Jones) Draine

Virgie Lee Jones-Draine was born on October 12, 1930 in Altheimer, Arkansas to John Davis and Mabel Toyer. She departed this life on September 1, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

She graduated from Holman High School in Stuttgart, Arkansas, where she was also a member of the school's first women's basketball team. After finishing high school, she completed her studies at Velvatex Beauty School in Little Rock, Arkansas. She then relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked as a beautician for several years.

Virgie was previously married to Ernest Jones from Stuttgart and later married to Howard Draine from Chicago, IL.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Jones and second husband Howard Draine.

Virgie leaves to cherish her memory two sons Donald Jones of Stuttgart, AR and Arnold Draine of Atlanta, GA;  two daughters Sherry Jones of Chicago, IL and Andrea Draine Lewis of Savannah, GA; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives .
