Timmy Dale Burks was born September 20, 1970 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Mamie Wesley and the late Melchie Koonce. He transitioned from this life on January 8, 2026.
He was a 1988 graduate of Stuttgart High School. Timmy Dale was an avid fisherman and hunter, as well as a faithful member of R&B Group L.O.D. (Like of Deformation).
Timmy Dale confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, under the leadership of the late Rev. Wade. He later joined Temple of God under Reverend James Henderson’s leadership.
He was employed over the years by Riceland Foods, Tucker Max Security Unit, and Lennox Industries.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nadine Koonce, two brothers Melchie Koonce, Jr. and Broderick Hogg, and many uncles and aunts.
Timmy Dale leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife Tanya James-Burks of Detroit, MI; three daughters Gabriell Burks of Hutchinson, KS, Tekira Burks of Lonoke, AR, and DhaKiya James of Detroit, MI; six grandchildren Ma’Khyla, Tazaria, Teagan, Promyse, all of Lonoke, AR, Sincere James and Marcell James, both of Detroit, MI; sisters Renea Smith of Flint, MI, Katherlene (Paul) Hill, Mary Rivers, Margaret (Clarence) Goodloe, all of Stuttgart, AR, and Odessa (Larry) Carter of Pine Bluff, AR; brothers Charles Koonce of Tacoma, WA, Kenneth (Linda) Koonce of Vader, WA, and Dwight (April) Hood of Stuttgart, AR; brothers-in-law Mark Olujimia, Tafata Ona, and Artus James; and sister-in-law Albena Mensai. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
