Thurman Gene McCastle

Thurman Gene McCastle was born June 9, 1959 to the late Lee Wesley and Teresa McCastle in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He departed this life on May 1, 2024.

He was a graduate of Stuttgart High School, Class of 1977. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marines.

Thurman’s first marriage was to Brenda Threets, and to that union one daughter was born. He later married Cecelia Marie Waters on June 30, 1986, and to this union, three children were born.

He was a member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Stuttgart, under the leadership of Reverend Napoleon Davis, Jr., where he was called to the ministry before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas. He then transferred his membership to First Liberty Hill Church in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his mother Teresa McCastle, father Lee Wesley McCastle, brothers Odelle McCastle and Alvester McCastle, and sister Aretha McCastle Benjamin.

Thurman leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Alicia (Andre) Hunter, Teresa McCastle, and Thurnisha McCastle, one son Thurman McCastle, Jr., eight grandchildren, four brothers, five sisters, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
