Thomas Hill, Jr. Obituary

Thomas “June” Hill, Jr. was born December 12, 1941 to Emma Coker and Thomas Hill, Sr. in Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas. He was the third son to a family of eleven sons and one daughter. Thomas was converted at an early age. He inherited the vocal attributes of his father and sang in the choir for the majority of his Christian life, to which his mother thoroughly enjoyed.

He graduated from Holman High School in 1963. Thomas was an awesome sportsman; he played football and basketball, gaining him a scholarship to Shorter College. He remained faithful to Holman until his health began to fail. Making sure to keep the field mowed, as well as servicing Holman in any way possible.

Thomas worked as a farmer for many years. In 1989, he started a new career at Riceland Foods, retiring in 2004 only to begin another career as a yardman. He was always tinkering on something, whether it was doing a repair on a house or a lawn mower. He had to be busy at all times.

He loved his family whether they were near or far, and he often shared memories of his elders with anyone who would listen. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. Thomas frequently traveled to the basketball and football games of his grandson and any other family events that he could possibly attend whether it was a graduation, wedding, picnic or just traveling to check on his family.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Thomas and Emma Hill, his brothers Roy Earls, Sr., John Hill, Hubert Hill, Willie Hill, and sister-in-law Geraldine Hill.

Thomas departed this life on July 16, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his wife and family.
