Shirley Scaife was born October 3, 1943 in Conway, Arkansas to the late James and Dorothy Sullivan. She departed this life on July 25, 2021.
Shirley and Courtney were united in holy matrimony on January 18, 1965. She and her husband both accepted and dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ in 2007.
Shirley Scaife was introduced to knitting, crocheting, and sowing at a very young age, and developed extraordinary skills as a seamstress. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and going fishing with her late husband, Courtney L. Scaife, Sr. - "The Real Blues Man.” Be advised, you had to put on your “Big Boy” and “Big Girl” pants to go fishing with these two! You would have to look forward to being out on the hole ALL day, fighting the sun and heat, as well as fighting Arkansas’ state bird - “The Mosquito!”
She was preceded in earthly departure by her husband Courtney L. Scaife, Sr., her eldest son Courtney L. Scaife, Jr., one brother James Sullivan, and one sister Mary Scales.
Shirley Scaife leaves to honor her life two sons James Willis Scaife (Teresa) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Michael Anthony Scaife (Rosalyn) of Portland, Oregon; one daughter Paulette D. Hogan (Otis) of Atlanta, Georgia; seven brothers Ceotis, Cleotis, Monroe, Paul, Reggie, Curtis, and Jerry; four sisters Lois, Annie, Denise, and JoAnn; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In the end,
It is not the amount of years lived that count,
It is the amount of love expressed in those years!
Until we meet again on the other side...Glory!
