Obituary

Sherry Regina Morris was the oldest of five children born to the late Juanita and Mack Lawrence Owens on May 23, 1962, in Stuttgart, Arkansas.  She transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, March 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was united in holy matrimony to Carl Lee Morris, Jr. on August 24, 2009, and God blessed them with 13 years of marriage. She was a devoted and loving wife.

Sherry accepted Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost at a young age. She faithfully served as a member and progressed in her dedication to Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. She served as the financial Secretary and assistant Treasurer. Sherry worked in several ministries in the church, Women’s Department, Young People’s Willing Workers and freely serving others through the food ministry. Wherever assistance was needed, she would fall in line and help!

Sherry was a 1980 graduate of Stuttgart High School and graduated from Phillips Community College in Business Management. She was also a long-term Riceland employee team member and friend, who worked at the Stuttgart office for 38 years. Sherry joined Riceland in 1985, working initially as a clerk in the Placement Office, and after a series of promotions, served as Sales and Purchasing Assistant. She was known for doing great work and making a positive difference.

She was preceded in death by her father: Mack Lawrence Owens, mother: Juanita Owens, brother: Roderick Timmons, and niece: Erica Williams.
