Sherman Berry, Jr. Obituary

Sherman Lee Berry, Jr. was born on May 9, 1978 to Sherman Lee Berry, Sr. and Janet Denise Scott Berry in Little Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life on October 8, 2024 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, surrounded by his loving family.

He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, Arkansas, under the leadership of Reverend Gilbert Byrd, Jr., and remained a member until he passed. He served as an Usher, an honorary member of the Pastor Aide's Ministry, and on occasions assisted with the Pastor’s Banquet & Anniversary celebrations.

Sherman worked at Scott Manufacturing in Stuttgart for over eight years. In 2015, he relocated to Little Rock and joined Sage V Foods.

It was love at first sight when he met DeShonna McDonald in August 1996. After dating for nine years, they were united in holy matrimony on February 25, 2005, and shared over twenty-eight years together. To their union was born one daughter, Dajia Shiree Berry, on August 1, 1997. He was also blessed with five bonus children.

Affectionately known as “98”, Sherman was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved music and was the life of the party. A hard worker and a wonderful family man, he was also a great friend. Some of his well-known sayings included “I’m telling you” and “you must have been a pretty baby.”

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lee Della and Ellis Berry, Sr. and Amelia and Isaiah Scott, as well as many aunts and uncles.

Sherman leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife DeShonna McDonald Berry; three daughters DeAira McDonald, DaMyya (Keundra) Reed, and Dajia Berry; three sons DeVonte Ice, Drelon Ice, and DaKobe McDonald; father Sherman Berry, Sr.; mother Janet Denise Scott Berry; twelve grandchildren; four sisters Cicely Reams, Tashema Fairow, Shermanetta Berry, and D’Lasia Berry; four brothers Johnathan Berry, Jerrimy Wright, D’Karius Berry, and Stetson Holt; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
