Sharon Yvette Harvey was born on August 19, 1961, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Harry Harvey Sr. and Leola Harvey.
Sherry was the second-born of a set of triplets. Anyone who knew her knew she was the boss of the three, and she embraced that role with love, strength, and a spirited personality.
At an early age, Sis. Sherry accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at New Bethel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend James E. Hughes. She later united with Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Gilbert Byrd Jr., where she faithfully served as an usher until her health no longer allowed her to attend regularly. Sis. Sherry loved the Lord and treasured her family above all else.
She received her education in the Stuttgart Public School District. Sis. Sherry had a nurturing heart and genuinely loved children. She believed in guiding them in the right direction and was never afraid to correct them when necessary. Even if you were grown, she still had a way of trying to "slap" some sense into you, always with love.
In her spare time, Sis. Sherry enjoyed playing spades with family and friends. She also loved traveling and spending time with the family God had so richly blessed her with. She especially cherished the company of Mrs. Verlinda, Bridgette, Brandon, Borrie, Shawnville, and Kadeisha.
Sis. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Harvey Sr. and Leola Harvey; her sisters, Earmer J. Grant and Mae Jane Harvey-Addison; and her grandson, Eddie Thornton III, affectionately known as "Lil E."
Though Sis. Sherry is no longer with us in the flesh, her irreplaceable presence, unconditional love, and treasured memories will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Sharod Harvey of Stuttgart, Arkansas, and Eddie Thornton Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her brothers, Harry (Linda) Harvey Jr., Larry Harvey Sr., Kevin "Calvin Lee" Harvey, and Albert D. Harvey, all of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Edward (Patricia) Harvey of Kansas City, Kansas, and Elijah (Patsy) Harvey of Fresno, California; her sisters, Polly Ann Bell of Kansas City, Kansas, and Karon Harvey of Stuttgart, Arkansas; her beloved grandchildren, Travion, Davion, Shaundarius, Makayla, Skylynn, Addison, Ace, Faith, and Adalynn; her god daughters, Michal Johnson and Elizabeth Harvey; her god mother, Verlinda Jones; god sister, Bridgette Jones; god nephews, Brandon Murry (her devoted hairstylist) and Borrie Sims; god nieces, Shawnville Jones and Kadeisha Avery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
