Robert Ardell Burnett was born on October 24, 1956 to Cynthia and Eddie Burnett in Brinkley, Arkansas.
Ardell accepted Christ at an early age and was a God-fearing man who loved everyone; he never met a stranger. He attended school in Moro, Arkansas. When the family moved on Highway 49, Ardell transferred to Brinkley High School.
He worked at True Timber Mill in Wheatley, Arkansas, until it closed down. He then moved to Chicago, Illinois to work at his brother Sonney’s restaurant for a year and a half. He returned to Brinkley and married his high school sweetheart Cheryl Adell. To that union, three sons were born Robert Jr., Broderick, and Brian.
Ardell started at a very young age repairing vehicles. He really loved working on the newer vehicles, because they challenged him. He would stay up half the night watching YouTube to figure out how to fix a vehicle, when he had problems with it.
He first met Bobbie in 2007 at a friend’s house. Ten years later their paths crossed again. They were married October 26, 2019 and remained happy until God called him home.
Ardell was preceded in death by his parents, one son Robert Burnett, Jr., and nine siblings Marion Burnett, Annie Mae Burnett, Mary Lately, Doretha Burnett, Maurice Smith, Odell Burnett, Rosie Lee Nunn, Samuel Burnett, and James Burnett.
Ardell leaves to cherish his memory his wife Bobbie Gipson-Burnett; five sons Broderick Burnett of Little Rock, AR, Brian Burnett of Memphis, TN, Patrick Burnett of North Chicago, IL, Roderick Burnett and Omarion Palmer, both of Brinkley, AR; three step-sons Kaidrick Harris of Stuttgart, AR, Timothy Davies, Sr. (Margaret) of Brinkley, AR, and Victor Davies, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; one brother John David Burnett of Brinkley, AR; five sisters Edna Smith (Anthony) of Temple, TX, Jessie West (Eddie) and Bettye Strong (William), both of Harker Heights, TX, Jammie Turner (Charles) of Killeen, TX, and Willie Lee (Robert) of Rockford, IL; sisters-in-law Queen Burnett of Brinkley, AR and Mary Burnett of Chicago, IL; a special cousin whom he treated like a sister Audrey “Nita” Broadway of Dallas, TX; three Goddaughters Wilshina Franks, Shelith Franks, and Alsenuria Turner; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
