Phillip Amos was born March 9, 1954 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Louis Amos and Maude Jemerson Amos.
He attended Holman High School and graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1972. Phillip married his high school sweetheart Racine Jackson on January 22, 1973. He occasionally visited Traveler’s Rest Missionary Baptist Church with his mother Maude and New Bethel A.M.E. Church with his wife Racine throughout his life.
Phillip enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, doing yard work, and cleaning his and Racine’s vehicles. Before retirement he worked at Piggly Wiggly, Jacuzzi and Kroger while living in Stuttgart, AR and then later at Sam’s Club when he moved to Rogers, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Maude Amos and a loving sister Darlene Herron.
Phillip passed peacefully at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, AR on January 27, 2019. He leaves to celebrate and cherish his memory wife Racine Amos of 46 years; two children Yolanda Amos of Charlotte, NC and Phillip Jr. of Portland, OR; two sisters Debra Ross and Elaine Amos, both of Stuttgart, AR; four brothers Arthur (Tarlice) Amos of Altheimer, AR, Lewis (Hanna) Amos of Jacksonville, AR, Ray (Lola) Amos and Bruce Amos, both of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, classmates, and friends.
