Pearl Rogers Obituary

Sister Pearl Rogers transitioned from her life on earth on August 22, 2024 at 10:18 AM at her home in Clarendon, Arkansas.

Sister Pearl was born on December 14, 1928 in Roe, Arkansas to the late Earnest and Willie Mae Jennings. In the early years, she was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Roe.

Sister Pearl attended Holman High School in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Following graduation, she enrolled at Brown Skin Beauty School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After briefly working as a hair model in Pine Bluff, she worked as a hairstylist in Clarendon for a short time.

Sister Pearl moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she began working and met a wonderful man named Jewell Rogers, whose faith was in Islam. Once they married, she embraced Islam and, under the registered leadership of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, she was given the name Sister Pearl Muhammad.

Sister Pearl began working as a caregiver while also attending Mrs. Minor's Sewing School on 47th Street, where she trained to become a seamstress. In her spare time during the mid-70s, she sold Dashikis in boutiques around the 47th Street area. After her husband passed away, she relocated back to Arkansas and was pleased to discover the Little Rock Study Group in Little Rock, Arkansas where she could connect with other believers in her faith.

Sister Pearl was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters Blanche, Mildred, Annie, Inez, Marilyn, Buddy, and Baby Ray and two grandchildren Tramell Eddington and Jamall Eddington.

Sister Pearl leaves to cherish her loving memory: three children Larry (Stephanie) Eddington and Wayne Eddington, both of Chicago IL, and Ohimi Bennett of Clarendon, AR; grandchildren Levar Eddington of MN, Ebonie Eddington of Chicago, IL, Dewayne Eddington of Indiana, Clifton Eddington of Indiana, Martina Doston of  Chicago, IL, Larry Doston of Chicago, IL, and Nicole Eddington of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
