Patricia Ann Cleveland-Childress was born Tuesday, October 21, 1969 in Albion, New York at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital. She transitioned this life on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 in her home in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She received her education at Holly Grove High School, where she graduated with honors in 1987. After high school, Patricia attended the University of Arkansas - Pine Bluff for one year before joining the Army National Guard in 1988, where she served for 6 years. She returned to college nearly 20 years later, graduating Phi Theta Kappa at Phillips Community College-Arkansas in 2007. Patricia loved coaching, theme parks, fairs, traveling, public speaking, reading, basketball, barbecues, music (especially the Blues), orange (of course) and most importantly, FAMILY.
Patricia was a passionate person. She will be remembered for her big smile and her ‘tell it like is’ personality. She most cherished the time she shared with friends and family and the eternal connection of her closest loved ones. They made her feel special and gave her personal life, great fulfillment, and most importantly, they brought her happiness.
Patricia was a mother of two children, Darious (Sencerity) Rutling and Andre Berry. She was also a PatPat (grandmother) of two, Dakyrie King Rutling and Damiere Prince Rutling, whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother Annie (Chutis) Hicks; father Chester Cleveland; grandparents Willie C. Starr, Sr., Luella Scott, Mack and Elbie Cleveland; siblings Elouise Cleveland, Shirley Cleveland, Lorene Cleveland, Eddie Cleveland, and Chester A. Cleveland; soul sistah Linda Brewster; and favorite uncle Sylvester Cleveland, Sr.
She leaves to treasure her memory: her husband Lawrence E. Childress of Little Rock, AR; father Apostle Rozell Wofford of Little Rock, AR; children Darious Raphael (Sencerity) Rutling of St. Louis, MO and Andre FeSean Berry of Clarendon, AR; grand Patty's Dakyrie King Rutling and Damiere Prince Rutling, both of St. Louis, MO; siblings Lillie (Marco) Evans and Annie (Juan) Hall, both of Little Rock, AR, Walter Cleveland, Chester Cleveland, Jr., Eric Cleveland, Antonio (TiaNico'le) Cleveland, Odette Cleveland, Norma Jean Cleveland, Keosha Cleveland, LaPorsha Cleveland, Kathy Shaneyfelt (Thomas), all of St. Petersburg, FL, George Phipps of Holly Grove, AR, Lamont (Rachael) Longs of Flint, MI, Tabitha Wofford, Rozell Wofford, Jr., Lisa Wofford, Danita Wofford, and Samuel Wofford; longest standing friend Timothy Hardiman; big bro/cousin Paul Hansberry; favorite aunt/sister/friend Novella Starr; soul sistahs Marilyn (Terry) Williams, Jessica (John) Green, Tina (Henry) Scruggs-Robinson, Lawandia Isby, Alisha Johnson, Crystal Daniels, and Yulonda (Chris) Curlett; and an abundance of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
