Otis Sylvester Hill, Sr. was born July 16, 1950 in Almyra, Arkansas to the late Emma and Thomas Hill, Sr. He departed this life on Monday, August 30, 2021.
He attended Holman School in Stuttgart, Arkansas during the ‘Yellow Jacket’ era in the late 50s through early 70s, with a great love for basketball, singing, tennis, and dancing. Everywhere he went, there was a dance-off that he was sure to win. Otis had this thing in life that if it was fixed, break it and fix it again, which left him with about twenty watches, BB guns, tvs, and radios with over half of them not working.
Affectionately known as “Bachie”, Otis was well known throughout the community. Wherever he went with the personality he had, there was never a dull moment! Out of two ex-wives, he had six children that we know of, but he said there were more.
Otis confessed his life to Christ as a child and faithfully attended Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, with the guidance of his parents. Later in life he became a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor David Wilson, where he was a faithful Deacon and choir member.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emma and Thomas Hill, Sr., and five brothers Roy Earls, Jr., Willie “Buck” Hill, Thomas “June” Hill, John Hill, and Hubert “Beman” Hill.
Otis leaves to cherish in remembrance of his humorous moments in life five sons Otis S. (Rosalyn) Hill, Jr. of North Little Rock, AR, Otis (Paulette) Hogan of Atlanta, GA, Jerald (Demita) Hogan of Jacksonville, AR, Timothy (Lisa) Hill of Stuttgart, AR, and LeVar Bell of DeWitt, AR; two daughters Andrea (Edward) Tisinger of Tulsa, OK and Kenyeitta Hill of Lake Worth, TX; one sister Louise (Paul) McCoy of Long Beach, CA; five brothers Paul Hill, Kenneth (Shirley) Hill, Freddie (Theresa) Hill, and Curtis (Debra) Hill, all of Stuttgart, AR and Gerry (Agnus) Hill of Little Rock, AR; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
