Oscar L. Johnson, Jr.

Oscar Johnson, Jr. was born on July 4, 1947 to the late Oscar and Sadie Mae Johnson in West Memphis, Arkansas. He was educated in the West Memphis, Arkansas School District.

He remained a resident of Arkansas throughout his life. He was a carpenter by trade and was known for his quality craftsmanship. Oscar was a social person and brought joy to every room he entered. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, hunting, and playing pool, as well as cooking and grilling.

Oscar entered into holy matrimony with his first wife Mary Ann Johnson. He later entered in his second marriage with wife Verlestine Johnson. He worked for Riceland Foods for many years. Oscar was a devoted father to his two daughters. 

On February 27, 2021, he departed his earthly temple and went home to be with the Lord. Proceeding him in death were his sisters Luverner Razor and Helen Jean Johnson-Norwood.

Oscar leaves behind his loving daughters Songya Gaither and Jamilana Gaither; grandson Jayden Hall; siblings Earl Hicks (Ann), Leo Johnson (Queen), Rosie Johnson and Frank Johnson (Tasha); and a host of other relatives and friends to cherish his memories.
