O.B. Jemerson

O.B. Jemerson, Sr. was born February 4, 1923 in DeWitt, Arkansas (Boone Hill) to the late James (Jim) and Frankie (Jennings) Jemerson. The family consisted of five sisters and five brothers, who all preceded him in death.

He left his earthly body on January 31, 2020 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, Arkansas, only four days from celebrating his 97th birthday. O.B. served in the United States Army for four years. After being discharged, he moved to Stuttgart and met the love of his life Annie Bell Robinson. They were united in holy matrimony in 1947, and to this union six children were born.

O.B. leaves to cherish his memories his children Margaret Daniels of Chicago, IL, O.B. (Rose) Jemerson, Jr. and Archelous  Jemerson, both of Kansas City, MO, Troy Jemerson of Memphis, TN, and Gwenda Jemerson and Tonya Jemerson, both of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

O.B., affectionately known as ‘Grim Cracker’ by his family, attended Immanuel School in Almyra, Arkansas. At an early age he joined St. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in DeWitt, Arkansas.

O.B. was employed at Stedman’s Hardware for many years as a customer associate. During his retirement, he enjoyed entertaining in the front yard with his buddies Robert, Cletus, Gale, and Cletus. He loved to fish, hunt, and barbeque. The donut shop was his favorite spot. He also loved to joke and make you laugh, in addition to singing ‘Hey good looking …ending with Hey Hey!’. He will be missed!
