Noah Walker Obituary

Noah Walker was born on March 18, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Jesse L. Walker, Sr. and Beulah L. Clear Walker. At the age of 77 years old, he departed this life on December 6, 2023.

He was only two years old when Jesse, Sr. grew tired of share cropping in Scott, Arkansas on a tenement farm and packed up his family and moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas. There he attended Holman High School, graduating with the Class of 1966.

After graduating from high school, Noah married Joanne Walker. From this union, his first- born son Gregory Walker was born. He moved to Chicago, Illinois where he worked as a truck driver for a furrier. Upon graduation from barber college, he enrolled in a carpenter’s school to provide for his family.

As fate would have it, when his father grew ill, Noah moved back to his hometown of Stuttgart to help his mother take care of him. He was employed at Producers Rice Mill and worked there until he retired. He did, however, continue to work part time until November 2023.

Noah married Bobbie Faye Davies, and three stepsons were taken under his care: Kiadrick Harris, Timothy Davies, and Victor Davies.

He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Allen Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Thomas.

Noah’s truly great passion in life was working to help others. There was never a job he couldn’t do. He was a barber, a motor mechanic, and a gardener. If he did run across something he felt he couldn’t do, he knew someone who could. Noah loved music and got hooked on cowboy boots, when his Mama bought him and his brother a pair of Tom Mix cowboy boots. He enjoyed telling jokes and pulling pranks on anyone he could. Additionally, he loved beans and cornbread. In fact, when he was a member of the Holman High School band, he and four of the others wrote a song that they called “Conbrea”. Later he became enamored with motorcycles.

Noah was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Beulah Walker, Sr.; three sisters Cora Coleman of Chicago, IL, Elizabeth Walker of Palo Alto, CA, and Vivian Walker of Chicago, IL; one son Gregory Walker of Chicago, IL; and two grandsons Darrell Williams of Magnolia, AR and Ricky Driver, Jr. of Little Rock, AR.

Noah leaves to morn his passing two sons Gregory Ball and DeAndre Hudson, both of Chicago, IL; three daughters Cubie Renee Culton of Little Rock, AR, Jeannetta N. Walker (Henry) Rodgers and Je’Taun Ball, both of Chicago, IL; one brother Rev. Dr. Jesse L. Walker of Stuttgart, AR; four sisters Dorothy M. Romes of Palo Alto, CA, Earnesteen Shubert, Joan Stigger, and Frances M. Holmes, all of Chicago, IL; seventeen grandchildren Angelina, Latriesha, Mark, Je’Nai, Jesse, Brooklynn, Sloane, Greg Jr., Kyra, Kyron, Khalil, Tabitha, Timothy Jr., Vicaya, Vakayla, Jonathon, and Victor III; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family has all done a great job in times like these. However, we would like to single out a young lady, Angelina Johnson, who exemplifies love and compassion. She has carried herself in such a way, we must let her know how easy she has made this transition of life without Brother Noah, her grandfather. God bless us everyone.
