Mother Lillian Bradley Williams was born to the proud parents of the late Virgil and Lottie Mae McGhee Bradley during 1936 in Star City, Arkansas. Mother Lillian gave her life to Christ at the young age of 12 years old at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend S.J. Nash. She received her general education in the Star City School District, and later moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas, where Mother Lillian graduated from Holman High School. She met and married the late Robert Lee Williams, and was the proud mother of five children; one which preceded her in death, Mrs. Kaby LaToye Williams Warren.
Mother Lillian joined Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor L.T. Walker, Jr. where she held many positions including: a licensed missionary, Sunday school teacher, president of the Bible Band class, choir member, and prayer warrior of the Sherwood District. Throughout her life she worked at the City Café, Knoll Laundry Cleaners, and was later self-employed as a restaurant owner and home health care provider.
Mother Lillian wanted it to be known how much she loved the Lord. Her love extended to her pastor, first lady, and dear church family as well. Moreover, she was known for the deep and abiding love she shared with her children, family, and friends.
Although she will be dearly missed, we rejoice that Mother Lillian’s suffering is over, and she is in the presence of the Lord whom she served tirelessly for many years. Her presence and legacy will always remain alive through her family, the Mt. Zion church family, the Stuttgart community and beyond.
Mother Lillian is survived by her children, Cherion (Van) Johnson, Ray Williams, Gevetia Williams, Christopher Silverman, and special daughter Joyce (Fred) Washington; her brother, YZ (Kathy) Bradley; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.
