Lilee Annise Smith, “Lil” as she was affectionately known by some of her family members, was born on January 10, 1996 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas to Roger Dale and Sharon Smith.
Little did baby Lilee know, as she was being born into this world, that her older brother Issac and sister Amanda would be waiting for her arrival at home. Lilee grew to fervently love and adore her siblings. When her cousin TyBreanna came to live with her, Lilee loved and adored her just as well. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Henry Dabner, Sr. (Hendo) at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Roe, Arkansas.
Lilee began her young life attending Head Start in Holly Grove, Arkansas, then later she attended Clarendon Elementary. In 2014, Lilee graduated from Clarendon/Holly Grove High School. She loved her school, teachers, and classmates. Upon graduation, “Lil” attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas, then later decided to enter the work world. She was a hard worker and enjoyed making her own money. Her strong work ethic often provided her opportunities in management positions, thus enabling her to obtain a little more pay. But, of course, she spent it on her two darlings Kahmara and Kahlyse.
Lilee loved her family and was adamant about keeping her family together. On holidays, she would sometimes go to Carlisle to spend time with her Carlisle Crew (her aunts, uncles and many cousins on her father’s side), or sometimes she’d stay home to host a holiday gathering that would turn out to be a “much needed get-together” for the Clarendon Crew (on her mother’s side). In addition, she kept most of her nieces and nephews during their summer breaks, and she usually kept them all at one time. She was an amazing “Tia”. Truly she was an outgoing and loving person, always the life of the party. She loved hosting holiday events and kept the family on track.
Lilee departed this life on May 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father Roger Dale Smith, her fraternal grandfather Jonas Smith, and her maternal grandfather Thirlee “Sonny” Mitchell.
Lilee leaves to celebrate her life her two daughters Kahmara Capri Murray and Kahlyse Calayan Noel Smith, both of Clarendon, AR; her devoted mother Sharon Powell (Jessie) of Clarendon, AR; one brother Issac Thirlee Smith (Jennifer Smith) of DeValls Bluff, AR; one sister Amanda Meilynn Smith (Derek Kelso) of Roe, AR; two loving grandmothers Pearlene Mitchell of Clarendon, AR and Bobbie Smith of Atlanta, GA; aunts Sylvia Smith Wilson (Lowrenza) of Little Rock, AR, Penny Smith of Atlanta, GA and Tracy Perry (Elgin) of Clarendon, AR; uncle Gregory Todd Mitchell (LaTashia Artis) of Clarendon, AR; nieces Kahlaya Smith, Kabria Smith, and Everleigh Kelso; nephews Kaison Kelso, Korean Kelso, Keagan Smith, Raylen Thompson, and Eric Palmer; two special cousins Della Byrd and Kelly Byrd, both of St. Louis, MO; and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
Such a happy and smiley person as Lilee can never be mourned. If we do cry, they will be tears of joy, because Lilee was the epitome of joy and the epitome of living a fun, free and joyful life! Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be remembered forever.
