Keonna Horner Obituary

Keonna Rochell Horner was born on May 7, 1985 to Rose Mary Horner-Ice and Kenneth Dean Haynes, Sr. in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Keonna was a graduate of Stuttgart High School, Class of 2003. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff in December 2008. During her years at UAPB, Keonna began to come ‘out of her shell’ and became more social. She was the founder and president of the Thurgood Marshall Club and a Resident Advisor in “The Plex”. She also met a group of ladies she affectionately called “the ole so fly girls”, in which she gained the name “SO POPULAR.” Keonna loved this group of women and continued a friendship with them. After the birth of her greatest blessing Trinitee MacKenzie Davis, Keonna furthered her education by receiving a Master of Science in Human Behavior from Capella University in September 2014. She was only two semesters away from obtaining her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology degree.  Keonna was very proud of her educational accomplishments and did not mind telling anyone to put some respect on her name and would follow it with her degrees.

She worked as a parole officer in Dallas, Texas until her health and death of her mother brought her back to Arkansas. She had just started a new job at the State Hospital as a Police Officer and was very happy about getting back into the field she loved.

Keonna was a God-fearing woman who loved to attend church. She was a member of Bethel AME Church NLR under the leadership of Reverend Tyrone Broomfield. Her life was dedicated to Christ at New Bethel AME in Stuttgart, Arkansas by her mother as a baby. Keonna loved mentoring young people, doing hair and decorating anyone’s house, party, or family gathering.

She departed this life on April 20, 2020 in Carthage, Texas. Keonna was on her way to help a friend in need. Unfortunately, she was called home before she made it to this friend.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Rose Mary Horner-Ice, her twins, and her maternal grandparents Alexander Doyle Horner, Sr. and Thomas and Bobbie Gipson.

Keonna leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter Trinitee Davis; father Kenneth Haynes, Sr. (Stacy); stepfather Tommie Ice; grandmother Alean Henderson; three sisters Kenyatta Johnson, Shunnarah Haynes, and Tomesha Ice; two brothers Kenneth Haynes, Jr. and JerMicah Haynes; six step-sisters LaTonya Bradshaw, Dekova Statewright, Charneka Jones, Kimberly Ice, Kawonda Brown, and Jade Bradford; five step-brothers Jerry Reeves, Tommy Statewright, Tommy Ice, Elric Robinson, and Jamarious Ticey; two very special brothers Donnell Horner and Derrell Horner; a nephew very dear to her Kendarius Ice; and a close friend Mrs. Louanna Spears. Keonna leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. She will be truly missed.
