Ken Lemont Smith was born September 13, 1965 in DeWitt, Arkansas. He was the son of L.C. and Bertha Fitzpatrick Smith. He transitioned from this life on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at his home in DeWitt.
Affectionately known as Monty, he was a 1983 graduate of DeWitt High School. He continued his education at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas. While attending UCA, Ken became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Ken later joined the United States Army National Guard, where he achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant and received numerous awards and recognition. He was an employee of Lennox Industries for over nineteen years and retired due to health concerns.
Ken was joined in holy matrimony to Betty Joyce Smith on July 25, 2008. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, uncle, cousin, fraternity brother, and friend. He was a member of Turning Point Harvest Center in Stuttgart, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastors Earnestine and Robert Thomas.
Ken is survived by his loving and devoted wife Betty Joyce Smith of DeWitt, AR; daughters Kyler Smith of Pine Bluff, AR, Rhonda (Clayton) Brookins of Grand Prairie, TX, and Marika (Chris) Curengton of Little Rock, AR; sons Jeremy London Smith of Little Rock, AR and Andre (Michell) Smith of Dacula, GA; parents LC and Bertha Smith of DeWitt, AR; eight grandchildren Jeffery Wallace III, Jayden London, Triston Hobbs, Laqkell London, Kelton Brookins, Jordan Brookins, Jonathan Smith, and Ryder Brookins; two sisters Deborah Smith Woods of DeWitt, AR and Cynthia Mitchell of Tulsa, OK; one brother Ricky (Helen) Smith of DeWitt, AR; special friends Kathy Campbell and Deniece Duncan; and numerous other relatives and friends.
