John Sanders, Jr. was born February 9, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mattie Lee Toney and John Sanders.
John was raised in Stuttgart, Arkansas, and attended Holman High School. In 1975, he moved to Los Angeles, California, and began working in security for United Bank of Los Angeles, where he dedicated 15 years of service. He later became a carrier for United Parcel Service in the city of Los Angeles and remained there until his retirement.
In 2005, he returned to Stuttgart and continued working at Dollar General and later at Dollar Tree.
John passed away on January 7, 2026 at 9:30pm at the home of his caregiver, Mrs. Debra Hardimon.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mattie Lee Toney Frye, father John Sanders, stepfather Robert Frye, brother Tommie Sanders, and sister Emma Jackson.

Sanders of Chicago, IL, Tino Frye of Stuttgart, AR, and Mark Bell (Latunya) of Brinkley, AR; stepmother Miss Eullia Power Sanders Sampson of Chicago, IL; aunts Johnnie Ruth Williams of Memphis, TN, Margret Thomas of Little Rock, AR, Janice Gilwreath (Larry) of Little Rock, AR, Carolyn Williams (George) of Little Rock, AR, Margret Saunders of Denver, CO, Debra Perryman (Donald Ray) of Kansas City, KS, and Brenda Anderson of Little Rock, AR; uncles Benny Frye and Charles Frye, both of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
