Jennifer Michelle Oates

Jennifer Michelle Oates was born July 7, 1982 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Birdie Hogan and Gregory Oates.

Jennifer accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Des Arc, Arkansas, under the leadership of Reverend Russell Penn, Jr.

Jennifer was a graduate of Stuttgart High School “Class of 2000”. Jennifer was employed with Producers Rice Mill for ten years.

Jennifer was a Chicago Bulls fan for life. She loved softball and participated in many tournaments as the pitcher. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and being around her friends, whom she loved dearly. Jennifer had a big heart and treated everyone with kindness.

Jennifer had many friends, but Chucky was her ‘ace’ from way back. They shared many happy memories. O.J., as she was affectionately known by her friends, was a fun and loving person. Her smile would light up the room.

Jennifer “O. J.” departed this life on Tuesday, August 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father Gregory Oates, Sr., paternal grandparents August and Orange Oates, maternal grandparents Percy and Bernice Hogan, Sr., paternal great-grandparents Leroy and Elfreda Oates, aunt Barbara Cunningham, uncles Switzer Hogan and Stanley Garrison, and cousins Vanessa Henderson and Boris Hamilton.

Jennifer leaves to cherish her memories her loving mother Birdie Jackson and stepfather Leonard Jackson, both of Stuttgart AR; brother Gregory Oates, Jr. of Stuttgart, AR; a very loving nephew Gregory “Trace” Oates, III of Stuttgart, AR; sister Jocelyn “Ja Ja” Owens of Stuttgart, AR; uncles Melvin Hogan of Roe, AR and Percy (Rachel) Hogan of Stuttgart, AR; aunts Roccine Taylor, Mavis (Fred) Henderson, and Carol Garrison, all of  Cleveland, OH, Carlene (Roosevelt) Fulton and Winne Hogan, both of Roe, AR, and Sharon Hamilton of Lonoke, AR; aunts Jacqueline Walls of Indianapolis, IN and Debra (Donald) Robinson of Stuttgart, AR; uncles Anthony “August” Oates of Stuttgart, AR, Rickey (Laura) Oates of Maricopa, AZ, Darrell (Loretta) Oates of Hampton, VA, and Damon Oates of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of cousins, friends, and acquaintances.
