Irene Mason was born to Geraldine Green and Willie Green on January 27, 1953 in Gould, Arkansas. She was the 7th of 14 children born to this union.
She received Christ before the age of 13, coming off the ‘morning bench’ at Auburn Missionary Baptist Church and has followed her faith serving Christ the rest of her life.
Irene worked in the fields until she graduated from Gould High School in 1971. After graduation, she moved to Dumas, Arkansas, where she met her husband. Irene was united in marriage with Sam Mason, Jr. on February 23, 1987. They later moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas some years later.
She began working at Riceland Foods in 1982 and retired in 2013, after over 30 years of service. She later joined Bible Believer's House of Faith, under the leadership of Pastor Steven Reed, where she faithfully served as an usher until her passing.
Irene was known as both a mother and a friend to many. She impacted and changed so many lives. She was a true example of God's s love and what a disciple of Christ looks like. She was a great teacher preaching God's word everywhere she went. Stranger was not part of her vocabulary; she saw everyone as God's children.
