Horace Mitchell, Sr.

Horace Mitchell, Sr. was born on July 23, 1935 to the late Mirl and Henrietta Mitchell in Roe, Arkansas. He entered eternal rest on March 30, 2025. When God called him home, he finished his earthly work as husband, father and servant.

On September 1, 1972, Horace married Antionette in St. Charles, Arkansas, and was a devoted husband for 52 years. They built a legacy of faith, family and service which touched countless souls. His heart of servanthood led him to minister in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes and halfway houses. Horace received recognition for his ongoing dedication to evangelism. Their union has blessed numerous God-led ministries that transformed their community for over five decades.

Horace was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Houston Dukes, Sr., Dorothy Mitchell, Roosevelt Mitchell, Thelma Montgomery, Mirl Mitchell, Roland Mitchell, Georgetta Mitchell, and Robert Smith.

Horace leaves to cherish his life - his wife, Antionette Mitchell of Monroe, Georgia; three children Demetria Bilbrew (Lance) of Loganville, Georgia, Horace Andre’ Mitchell (Charlayne) of Chicago, Illinois, and Joseph Mitchell (Felecia) of Gonzales, Louisiana; one twin brother, Morris Mitchell (Theressia) of North Little Rock, Arkansas; three sisters-in-law Kathay Walter (Larry), Janice Jones Harris, and Malayna Jones; two brothers-in-law Michael Jones and Reginald Essley; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
