Hattie Marilyn Redus, age 68, was born on February 23, 1954 to Sipeo Starks and Mae Ella Eckwood Starks in Humphrey, Arkansas. Affectionately known as Lynn, she departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Hattie married the love of her life, Frederick Lamont Redus, on May 8, 1976. From their union, they were blessed to welcome two daughters Kenyada and Latasha. In addition to being a mother, she was a light to her family and friends.
She became a Christian as a young girl at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Humphrey, Arkansas. Hattie attended the Word of Faith Bible Institute in Shreveport, Louisiana and received an Associate Degree on October 1, 1995. On September 26, 2004, she was ordained by Dr. Rick Layton of Word of Faith Church International, currently known as Refreshing Point Ministry. In 2005, Hattie moved back home to Arkansas to start a church with her husband Frederick in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Life Changing Church International. As the Pastor’s wife, she took joy in demonstrating love to everyone to bring a bit of light. She often did this by baking treats to share with others and providing a listening ear.
Hattie was always a creative and loving person. She was a pillar to her husband, children, and grandchildren. It's difficult to put in words what Hattie meant to everyone. She will be missed, but we will see her again one day in glory!
She was preceded in death by her father Sipeo Starks, mother Mae Ella Starks, sister Bessie May (Kenneth) Dexter, and brother William Starks.
Hattie leaves this world to her loving family: a devoted husband of forty-six years Mr. Frederick Redus of Sherwood, AR; two daughters Kenyada (Robert) Morris of North Little Rock, AR and Latasha Redus of Sherwood, AR; grandson Gabriel Redus Johnson; step-grandchildren Kenan Morris, Timothy Morris, Gabriel Morris, Kalabria Morris, and Tredacian Morris; siblings Melvin (Florence, deceased) Starks, Robert Lee Starks, Michael Starks, Rickey (Burnestine, deceased) Starks, Debbie (Robert, deceased) Brown, Jennifer (Steve) Davis, and Sylvia (Anthony) Brown; uncle John (Janet) Starks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
