Ms. Geraldine Crawley, a native Williamson, GA, was born on January 3, 1951. Geraldine (often referred to a Dine) graced many of our lives as a mother, sister, grandmother, family member, church member, classmate, coworker, and friend. She made her sudden transition from this earthly life on December 8, 2022.
In 1953, while just a small child, Geraldine’s parents, the late Eddie Lewis Crawley and Mildred Crawley decided to relocate from Williamson, GA to Stuttgart, AR. In Stuttgart, The Crawley’s made a home. Their children, Myron and Dine would soon join them.
Geraldine was a member of Holman High School’s Class of 1969. As a member of that class, she was honored with the second highest class achievement. Dine was named Salutatorian of her class. She received a Recognition of Achievement from Wilbur D. Mills Second District Arkansas House of Representatives for the Congress of the United States in May of 1969.
Geraldine was lifelong member of New Bethel AME Church. It is at New Bethel, where she first decided to give her life to Christ. Following in her mother’s precious footsteps of service, Dine volunteered in her community and church serving in several capacities. She was appointed as Corresponding Secretary of the Lay Organization’s East Northeast Arkansas Conference in 1988 and was elected to office of the Lay Organization’s East Northeast Arkansas Conference of The African Methodist Episcopal Church in 1992 as Treasurer. In addition to those prestigious appointments, Dine was also recognized with several awards of appreciation for her commitment and service to the Young People Department of New Bethel, valuable contributions to the Twelfth Episcopal Lay Organization, and an awards for Commission on Stewardship and Finance from New Bethel AME Church presented by Reverend Robert Nelson Jr. She was also presented with many awards for her participation in Stuttgart- Forrest City District Sunday School Conventions. On August 28, 2013, Dine rededicated her life to Christ.
Our beloved, Geraldine held a profession as a Loan Officer for Bancorp South formally known as First National Bank of Stuttgart. During her faithful employ, she developed very special relationships with her work family. After 37 years of service, Geraldine retired.
Dine spent her time reading books and her many versions of The Bible. She sowed many seeds into several different ministries throughout her life. She was a faithful believer until her dying day.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Willie George Yarbrough (birth father who died while Dine was a small child), Eddie Lewis Crawley, and Mildred Crawley
