Gary Amos Obituary

Gary Lee Amos was born February 22, 1955 to Joe and Emmer Lou Amos in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He departed this life on February 19, 2024 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart.

He attended Holman Schools, where he played basketball and was a member of the band. Gary was a graduate of Stuttgart High School, Class of 1973. He later joined the National Guard.

Throughout the years Gary was employed by Eddins Manufacturing, Producers Rice Mill, Cotton Belt Railroad, and Walmart.

He was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Bobby Brasfield and current Pastor Debra Burton.

Gary was united in holy matrimony to JoAnn Nobles, and they were married for over thirty-three years. His hobbies included painting, decorating, playing pool, and yardwork.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Emmer Amos and siblings Ralph Martin, Fred Amos, Vivian McCallister, Jimmy Amos, Alton Amos, Alice Wyatt, Ernest Amos, Lewis Amos, Joe Amos, Sr., Joe Amos, Jr., Lizzie Releford, Lucille Robinson, and Susan Collins.

Gary leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife JoAnn Amos of Stuttgart, AR; children Maranda (Joseph) Kitchens of White Hall, AR, Ashley (Rod) Ice of Stuttgart, AR, Brent Jerel Amos Holt and Gary Lee Amos Holt, both of Little Rock, AR; stepchildren Nelletha Nobles, Wonderful Nobles, Ray Nobles, and Raymond Smith, all of Stuttgart, AR; seventeen grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; four stepgreat grandchildren; siblings Diane Jordan of Monroe, LA, Nadine Burks and Kenneth Amos, both of Jolie, IL, Donald Ray (Debra) Perryman of Kansas City, KS, and John Amos of Stuttgart, AR; special friends Freddie Hill, Keith Pickett, and Charlie Jones, all of Stuttgart, AR; his buddy Kahlil Ice of Little Rock, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
