Mr. Fate Childress was born to the late Ned James Childress and the late Viola Childress in Marvell, Arkansas on November 10, 1937.
Mr. Childress was united in marriage at an early age to Mrs. Lucille Frazier, later to Mrs. Emma Jean Wilborn, and lastly to Mrs. Cathy Jones.
Growing up, he attended Mt. Ida Church in Marvell. Mr. Childress retired from Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, Arkansas, after twenty-plus years of service. He was known for giving his family and friends, who were Dallas Cowboy fans, a hard time whenever the Cowboys lost a game.
He resided in Stuttgart until he departed this life on November 9, 2021 in his home surrounded by family. Mr. Childress was preceded in death by his brothers Ned Childress, Fred Childress, and Americus Childress, sisters Cleopatra Sumpter and Serfronia Augustus, and son Freddie Lee Childress.
Mr. Childress leaves to celebrate the memory of his life, his wife Cathy Childress of Stuttgart, AR; eight children Debra Childress, Timothy Childress, Casey Childress, all of Madison, WI, Bryan Thurman, Brenda Jones, Lawrence Childress, all of Little Rock, AR, Denise Thurman of Maumelle, AR, and Anthony Childress of Dallas, TX; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates to cherish his precious memories. May he rest in peace.
