Eddie Lee Dabner was born July 19, 1950 to the late Gracie and James Dabner, Sr. in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He was one of three boys among twelve children.
He was a family man who took great pride in being able to take care of his family. Eddie had two children Terry Dabner and Felecia Dabner from a previous marriage, as well as a father to Tina Coleman and Jonathan Dabner. He married Marylene Ross on April 5, 2011, mother to Keidrick Ross, Timothy Ross and Judy Burton, whom he cared for deeply.
Eddie accepted Christ and was baptized by his brother Reverend Henry Dabner, Sr. He was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Roe, Arkansas.
He worked for the City of Stuttgart for a number of years and eventually for Producers Rice Mill, also in Stuttgart, where he later retired due to his declining health.
Eddie loved showing kindness to others, especially the elderly in the community. He often opened his home to anyone who had a need. He would feed everyone in town if he could, oftentimes delivering food so that no one was left out. Eddie was most known for the feasts he so lovingly prepared on Sunday afternoons, and the community loved stopping by for the already shelled pecans! He was a man that didn’t really meet a stranger and would take pleasure in teaching you what you needed to know, without judgment. He was forever using analogies to teach, most of them making no sense, until they did.
Eddie was attentively cared for by his wife Marylene, until his death, October 17, 2023, where he was surrounded by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Gracie Dabner, Sr., as well as sisters Mary Dabner, Martha Dabner, Leola Jackson, Searcie Smith, Virginia Holt, Ruby Browley, and brother James Dabner, Jr.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Marylene Dabner, his children Terry Dabner, Felecia Dabner, Jonathan Dabner, and Tina Coleman, along with their children and grandchildren; siblings Henry (Gloria) Dabner, Sr., Marva Joe Dabner, Marblelene Alexander, and Bular Taylor, along with nieces and nephews both near and far. There are an array of people who will miss him. Eddie was a father figure to many and some called him Unc, yet we know that he belonged to God and his time on this earth was up.
Rest well Eddie Lee, rest well.
