Earnie Lee Davis was born August 17, 1950 in Warren, Arkansas to Garland and Mary Maggielee Davis. Earnie attended Reed Junior High School in Dumas, Arkansas and Dewitt High School in Dewitt, Arkansas. He was skilled in upholstery and for many years worked as a janitor with the Little Rock School District as well as roofer for McCollum’s.
Earnie had a unique sense of humor, never met a stranger, and loved to joke and play with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was frequently referred to as “the favorite uncle” by nieces and nephews. He departed this life Friday, June 28, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Stuttgart after battling congestive heart failure for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Mary Maggielee Davis; two brothers, LaRon Davis and Garland Ray Davis, and grandparents; Willie and Eula McDaniel.
His life will be cherished by his wife, Arletha McNeil Davis and daughters: Sheela (DL) Harper of North Little Rock, AR, Vertis Keomica Davis of Dallas, Texas; Bridgette Wiley, Janice McNeil, Erma (Columbus) Osby, Kizzy McNeil of Stuttgart, AR; one son, Dwan McNeil of Stuttgart, AR; grandfather of thirteen (13), and a host of great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mary Wells of Monticello, AR; one uncle, Willie McDaniel of Waukegan, IL - Siblings: twin brother, Rev. Johnnie (Wilma) Davis of Little Rock, AR, Tommie Davis & Gloria Davis of Stuttgart, AR, Roxie Guerrero of West Palm Beach, FL., and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
