Mr. Earnest Walker, age 76, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. He was born on January 26, 1949, in Gethsemane, Arkansas, to the late Earnestine and L.C. Walker. Earnest was raised in a large and loving family and attended the Gethsemane School District. He went on to dedicate over 44 years of faithful service to Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, where he was known for his hard work, loyalty, and steady character.
On January 14, 1972, Earnest was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Walker, his devoted wife of 53 years. Together they built a strong family and a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Earnest enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He could often be found sitting outside in his yard listening to the blues, playing dominos with friends, and sharing stories with loved ones. Family meant everything to him, and he took great pride in making sure those he loved were always protected and provided for. His steady presence, sense of humor, and quiet strength will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earnestine and L.C. Walker; his daughter Barbara Sims; and his siblings Jerry Lee Lewis Walker, Charlie Ray Walker, T.J. Walker, Vernell Walker, Larry Walker, Edward Walker, L.C. Walker, Michael Walker, Leodis L. Walker, Christine Walker, and Wanda Walker.
Earnest leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Mary Catherine Walker; his children Cultina Phillips (Steven Phillips), Della Kirk, Carl Stewart (Amethyst Stewart), and Godson Edward Cox (Mary Cox); his grandchildren, TaiToyia Sims, Joaquin Sims, Ashley Kirk, Darylnesha Kirk, Savion Phillips, Barbara Phillips, Brianna Phillips, Diamarrietta Lima Copeland, Dwight Thomas, Jr., Karly Stewart, and Duanjha’e Stewart; his brothers Robert Walker, Mark Walker, and David Walker; his sisters Ella Mae Walker Freeman, Willa Mae Walker Young, Dorothy Worthy, Brenda Walker, and Debra Walker; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him. Earnest’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
