Early Robinson, Jr. Obituary

Elder Early Robinson, Jr. was born on March 9, 1952, in Itasca, Texas, to the late Reverend Early Robinson, Sr. and the late Sarah Mae Brown Robinson.  He departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2020, in his home.

He received his early education in Bishop. Texas.  He completed two years of study with the Berean College of Ministry.  He also attended the Charles Harrison Mason Jurisdictional Institute, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

He was saved in 1981, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He became a member of Calvary Commission in Lindale, Texas, an outreach for prison ministry, world missions, and Bible training.  He traveled extensively, including mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, sharing the message of Jesus Christ.  While at Calvary Commission, he received the call to the ministry.  He helped plant a church in Patterson, New Jersey.  He also held street services in Watts, California, along with the Calvary Commission Team.

In 1987, he was wed to Kathleen Nichols Robinson, the love of his life.  They enjoyed thirty-two years of marriage, while navigating the challenges and rewards of life.

In 1990, they joined Mason Temple Church of God in Christ, in Altheimer, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor Karl Barnes .There, he served as Sunday School Superintendent.  He was ordained an Elder on September 8, 1990.

Elder Robinson served as the Stuttgart District Sunday School Superintendent for ten years.  In 2007, Elder Robinson became the interim pastor for Outreach Ministry Church of God in Christ, in Stuttgart, for fourteen months. In February 2012, Pastor Robinson planted The Redeemed Church of God in Christ Mission in Dewitt, Arkansas.  He labored faithfully for seven years, until his health failed. He remained at The Redeemed, under the leadership of Pastor Terry Watson.

Pastor Robinson was a gentle giant, making a positive difference in his home, church, workplace, and community. He was not only faithful to God, but he was committed to his craft as a brazer at Lennox Industries in Stuttgart, Arkansas for twenty-six years.  He also took great joy in frying fish and smoking turkeys.

He was the fourth of fourteen children.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Bennie, and Jasper; and four sisters, Josephine, Ethel, Sarah Ann, and Flora Jean.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Kathleen Robinson; three sons and their wives, Brian and Candice Robinson (Conway, AR), Matthew and La’Nisha Robinson (Turlock, CA), and Mark and Alyssa Robinson (Conway, AR); eight grandchildren, Kendall, Kollin, Imaniey, Zariyah, Dimitri, Devin, Brayden, Alec, and a new grandson on the way; two brothers, Melvin Robinson (Dallas, TX), and Pastor Jerry Robinson and his wife Betty Jo (Lancaster, TX); four sisters, Earline Glenn (San Antonio, TX), Johnnie Mosley Russell, Lela Robinson, and Christine Williams, all of Corpus Christi, TX; five sisters-in-law, Bettye Williams (Hot Springs, AR), Daisy Ciggs (Broken Arrow, OK), Dorothy Woods (Little Rock, AR), Gloria Dishmon and her husband Columbus (Little Rock), and Joyce Mack and her husband, John (Magnolia, AR); two aunts Dorothy Taylor (Cuero, TX) and Clara Bell Cooper (San Bernardino, CA); one godson, Jason London (Oviedo, FL); one goddaughter, Azure Fitzpatrick (Stuttgart, AR); five daughters in Christ, Eula Meadows, Roberta Love, JoAnn Porter, Lee Norman, and Lois Hampton; the members of The Redeemed Church of God in Christ (DeWitt, AR); and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
