Mrs. Dovie Lee Holt “Ms. Shane” was born November 12, 1942 to the late Thomas J. and Beatrice Fairow in Wabbaseka, Arkansas.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Wabbaseka. Dovie was a graduate of Wabbaseka High School, formerly Walker High School, Class of 1964.
In the barber profession, Ms. Shane was known as a DOMINATE leader and mentor to many upcoming female barbers in Stuttgart and the surrounding areas for 31 years.
Dovie departed her life on December 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas J. and Beatrice Fairow, husband Arthur Holt, two grandsons Justin Rayshawn McAfee and Steven Joe Scott, Jr., brothers Thomas J. Fairow, Jr. and Johnny Fairow, and sisters Mammie Smith, Blanche Geans, and Karen Horton.
She is survived by her children Donnie Adams and Steven (Doris) Scott, both of Stuttgart, AR, Robin Scott of Pine Bluff, AR, Crystal (Jacinta) Scott of Jacksonville, AR, and Joe Scott, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV; stepchildren with the late Arthur Holt - Cleo (Shirlyn) Holt of Alpharetta, GA, Ruthie Montgomery and Theodore (Javonnia) Holt, both of Stuttgart, AR, Diane (Horace) Tatum of White Hall, AR, Barbara (Albert) Bryant of Casscoe, AR, Winne Wilson of Humphrey, AR, Jacqueline (James) Thomas of Conway, AR, Brenda Watson of Springdale, AR, Tina Holt and Amy Holt, both of Arkadelphia, AR and Kirven Holt of Almya, AR whom loved her dearly.
Dovie “Shane” loved her surviving siblings Floyd Fairow and Cleveland Horton, both of Stuttgart, AR, Dorothy Kelley of Arlington, TX, Mattie Keaton of Gary, IN, Deloris Bray and Brenda Moring, both of Little Rock, AR, Calvin Horton of Brooklyn Park, MN, Clinton (Cathy) Horton of Plymouth, MN, Janet Horton of St. Paul, MN, and Rosemary Horton of Brooklyn Center, MN.
Dovie also cherished her 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and godson David Hood. She loved her best friend of 63 years Mrs. Willie B. Yarbrough of Wabbaseka, Arkansas.
