Doris Ann Owens, age 60, was born August 22, 1959 to Johnnie and Pat Owens, whom preceded her in death, along with her big sister Rose Owens Powell, her favorite uncle Hubert Owens, and grandparents Dallas Sr. and Leora Owens and Earnest Sr. and Maurine Geans. She was once married to Howard Burks, Sr.
Our Mother worked at Riceland Foods for over a decade and Stuttgart Country Club, until her health changed. In addition, she was employed at Stuttgart Kentucky Fried Chicken as lead cook.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her three children, grandkids and especially her great-grand kids Casey “June Bug”, Ka’Leiace and Chayleigh. She enjoyed being with all of them, because she always said they kept her young. She enjoyed filling them with chocolate and showing Ka’Leiace certain dance moves! We will all miss her tremendously, especially her very blunt personality (no filters)!
She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons Howard Burks, Jr. of Stuttgart, AR and David Burks of Dumas, AR; one daughter Yolanda (Garry) Guydon of Stuttgart, AR; God daughter Stephanie (Rusty) Buie of Pine Bluff, AR; grandchildren Rodney (Tera) Hill, LeAndre Jeffery, Davion Jeffery, Rocelyn Jeffery, RicQuana Hampton, RicQuez Hampton, Jakedra Hunter, David Burks, Dylan Burks, Dash Burks, McKinley Wright, and Shaquawanna (Randall) Hill; as a granddaughter Andriel Carter; great-grandchildren Casey Hill, Ka’Leiace Hampton, Chayleigh Hampton, Kaitlynn Sutherland, Karabeth Swann, JeCarrius Jones, JeCobey White, and Trinnity White; siblings Carol Owens Vaughn of Burlington, NC and Gary Owens of Stuttgart, AR; nieces Jocelyn Owens, Camera Vaughn, Denise Reed, and KaWonna Reed; nephew Carrison Vaughn; aunts Shelia Brown, Audrey (Darrell) Fitzpatrick, Rosemary Owens Bryant, and Legirtha (Dennis) Adams; and uncles Dallas Owens, Jr., Percil (Rebecca) Owens, and Wilbert (Bobbie) Owens.
