Diann Phillips Obituary

Diann Phillips was born on March 23, 1964 in Tillar, Arkansas to the late parents of Cloyd Phillips and Rosie Lee Cross Phillips.

Diann was a graduate of Clarendon High School in Clarendon, Arkansas, Class of 1982.

Diann accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Roe, Arkansas. Later in life she moved her membership to First Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, Arkansas, under the leadership of Pastor Cedric E. Hawkins, Sr. She remained a faithful member until her work on this earth was finished.

Diann enjoyed cooking for everybody, from small events to family events. You knew she was going to make sure everyone left full and happy. She also had a catering business with her best friend Carmelita Heard called C & D “Sisters Catering”. And we enjoyed every bite.

Diann was a very compassionate person. Through all her storms, she always made sure she gave out her “words of encouragement”. Even her little shadow Taylor Rose Phillips is becoming a little Diann. Miss Taylor was her light and motivation to conquer every obstacle that she faced. Her most precious time was with her husband during their daily prayer.

Diann was preceded in death by her father Cloyd Phillips, mother Rosie Lee Cross Phillips, brothers Arthur Thompson, Theodore White, Floyd Phillips, Sr., and Eddie Fountain, Jr., sister Shirley Ann Phillips Fitzpatrick, and brother-in-law Martin Dale Fitzpatrick.

Diann completed her task on this earth and was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 18, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband Mackie Phillips of thirteen years of marriage. She was blessed with six gorgeous kids: Travion (Shalynn) Phillips and Jericka Nesbitt, both of Stuttgart, AR, Robin (Fred) Wilcots of Gilbert, AZ, Shaun (Roshelle) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL, Steven (Tina) Phillips of Little Rock, AR, and Amber (Cordney) Purcell of Edmond, OK; six grandchildren Travion Phillips, Jr., Trey Phillips, Tyree Phillips, and Taylor Phillips, all of Stuttgart, AR, Mackenzie Purcell and Alexander Purcell, both of Edmond, OK; four sisters Dorothy Franklin of Pine Bluff, AR, Inez (Charles) Walker of Pine Bluff, AR, Ruth Baltimore of Vallejo, CA, and Deborah Richardson of Stuttgart, AR; three brothers Temp (Annie) Phillips and Robert Phillips, both of Stuttgart, AR, and Anthony (Billie) Phillips of Little Rock, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
