Darrell Lamont Higgins

Darrell “Lamont” Higgins, 43, was born on January 23, 1977 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Linda K. Guydon. He passed away on August 18, 2020 in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Lamont was baptized in his early childhood years at First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. D.L. O’Neal. He attended Stuttgart Public Schools in Stuttgart, Arkansas. He worked various jobs in the city of Stuttgart and relocated out of state in 2016 to Gulf Shores, Alabama where he lived and worked for a short time. In 2017, he returned to Stuttgart, Arkansas and resided until his death.    

He had a true passion and love for washing cars and self- employed himself by exercising his well-known ability to wash and detail vehicles. You would often find him at the carwash listening to music and washing various cars during the week and weekend. He would frequently walk, drive or catch a ride to various homes to visit friends and family inside and outside the Stuttgart community. Lamont was unique in his own way and loved spending time with family and friends as much as he could. He did not mind lending a helping hand to anyone and would not hesitate to exchange one word when asked to do something. He was not a stranger to anyone and could easily light up a room with his smile.

Lamont shared his last years with someone very special in his life, the late Sherry Woods.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda K. Guydon; step-father, Clifford Guydon; grandfather, Charlie Mack Higgins; grandmother, Queen H. Dixon; great-grandmother, Lonia Colen and cousin, Margaret Higgins-Barrow.

Lamont leaves to cherish his memories: children, Montray Wyatt (New Orleans, LA) and Markayla Wyatt (Little Rock, AR); two sisters, Angela Williams (Tyrone) (Little Rock, AR) and Michelle Gurley (Doug) (Humphrey, AR); grandmother, Ollie Higgins (Stuttgart, AR); aunt, Charlene Roberts (Stuttgart, AR); aunt, Laneisha Higgins (Stuttgart, AR); three special cousins, Tonya Betts, Andre Higgins, and Roderick Higgins (Stuttgart, AR), a special niece, Krystal Gurley (Little Rock, AR) and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
