Daniel Brunson, Jr. Obituary

Daniel Brunson, Jr. was born November 4, 1953 to the late Daniel and Virgilene Brunson, Sr. in Ethel, Arkansas. He was baptized at an early age and remained a lifetime member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Ethel.

We are here today to celebrate the life and legacy of Daniel Brunson, Jr., also known as Boonie. Daniel was a Man of God who lived according to God’s design Holy Bible. Daniel owned a King James Bible that he received new many years ago from the Veterans Administration. The pages are curling on the edges and the words on the cover are slightly faded. Boonie read his Bible a good portion of every day. He never missed an opportunity to attend Church and was very active with the youth in the church. The scripture that sums up Daniel’s walk with God is: Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life, which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God”. His faith allowed him to let God’s love flow through him. Daniel touched the heart of many by his unwavering faith. He was the perfect role model of a Christian.

He enlisted in the United States Army on March 30, 1973 and served in Korea until March 28, 1975. God called Daniel home on May 10, 2023 at his brother Alton Brunson’s home in DeWitt, Arkansas, where he requested to spend his last days sitting on the porch at 701 East Gibson Avenue. Eight siblings, Restee Williams, Elverlene (Evelyn) Davis, Jimmy Williams, Lee Brunson, Brenda Lewis, Alushia Robinson, Curtis Brunson, and Alton Brunson survived him, as well as Breanna Smith (niece), Chance Clark (nephew), Raquelle London (niece), and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
