Cleophous Torrence was born on August 28, 1959 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late A.G. and Margaree Juniel Torrence.
Cleophous was raised in Bearden, Arkansas and was the youngest of eight children. He was educated in the Bearden School District and graduated from Bearden High School in 1977. Cleophous was an overly friendly person who never met a stranger and made many lasting friendships. He was raised at White Springs A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend C.D. Rogers, where he found a meaningful and lasting relationship with his ‘Lord and Savior’ Jesus Christ. Cleophous moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and united with Caanan Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend D. A. Witcher and remained a faithful member until God called him from his labor to his reward.
He had many jobs, but treasured working for the Bearden School District and as a carpenter. He never married but was always very fond of the ladies.
Cleophous was preceded in death by his older brothers James Davis and David Torrence. He is mourned by his siblings Mary (Louis) Lee of Inglewood, CA, Margaret Hicks of Flint, MI, Napoleon (Vickie) Davis of Stuttgart, AR, John (Rose) Davis of Little Rock, AR, and Mattie Torrence of Inglewood, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great host of friends.
