Charles Phillips Obituary

Charles Ray Phillips was born June 15, 1959 to Charles L. Phillips and the late Elizabeth Hogan-Phillips in Casscoe, Arkansas. He transitioned on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, where he resided most of his life.

He accepted Christ at an early age. He loved riding his motorcycle and watching wrestling. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family. He talked about two of his grandchildren Kam’Ryn Glover and Brooklyn Glover all the time. In Charles’ eyes, Brooklyn “Pookie Doo” could do no wrong.

Charles worked several years for the City of Stuttgart before moving to Little Rock, Arkansas. While in Little Rock, Charles drove for Coleman Dairy Company. On his return back to Stuttgart, he worked for Producers Rice Mill until his death.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Hogan-Phillips, two sons Shawndrell Phillips and Charles Otis Phillips, three uncles James Phillips, Marvin London, and Reverend Forrest Phillips, two aunts Missouri Phillips and Annie Phillips, and three brothers-in-law Otto Mullins, James White, and Archie Jones.

Charles is survived by his father Charles L. Phillips of Stuttgart, AR; eight sisters Anna Jones of Little Rock, AR, Sharon (Thurman) Penn of Hazen, AR, Roxie Phillips, Betty Phillips, and Bobbie Mullins, all of Stuttgart, AR, Mary Phillips of DeWitt, AR, Dessie Phillips of Holly Grove, AR, and Lula (Dwight) Haynes of Altheimer, AR; one brother Robert Phillips of Stuttgart, AR; three aunts Mattie London and O.V. Phillips, both of DeWitt, AR and Dessie Hogan of Detroit, MI; one uncle Russell Phillips of Chicago, IL; a very special friend Tina Manuel; four step-daughters Toccara Glover and Ebony Manuel, both of Stuttgart, AR, and Michelle Jones and Nora Jones, both of Little Rock, AR; one step-son John Martin of Little Rock, AR; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
