Charles L. Phillips was born February 25, 1930 in Crocketts Bluff, Arkansas to Russell and Florence Phillips. He transitioned this life on August 22, 2024 at John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by faith, family, and a love for the land.
Charles was baptized at an early age and embraced his relationship with the Lord, nurturing his spirituality through daily Bible readings and heartfelt worship in his living room.
He was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth Hogan, and together they celebrated the blessings of life with their ten children. Charles found immense joy in farming, which he considered not just a vocation but a way of life. His passion for agriculture and playing his guitar was matched only by his love for his family, particularly the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories and imparting wisdom.
Charles will be remembered for his wavering commitment to truth, his deep faith, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Hogan- Phillips, parents Russell and Florence Phillips, one son Charles Ray Phillips, two brothers James Phillips and Forrest Phillips, three sisters O.V. Phillips, Annie Phillips, and Missouri Phillips, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories eight daughters Annie Jones of Little Rock, AR, Sharon (Thurman) Penn of Hazen, AR, Roxie (James) Moore, Betty White, and Bobbie Mullins, all of Stuttgart, AR, Mary Phillips of Dewitt, AR, Dessie Phillips of Stuttgart, AR, and Lula (Dwight) Haynes of Altheimer, AR; one son Robert Phillips of Stuttgart, AR; one sister Mattie London of DeWitt, AR; one brother Russell Phillips, Sr. of DeWitt, AR; and a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
