Mrs. Catherine “Danny” Sims Geans was born to the late Willie “Tang” and Rosie Lee Sims on September 18, 1946 in Lookout, Arkansas.
Catherine attended Immanual School in Almyra, Arkansas. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ. After moving to Stuttgart, Arkansas, she was the first member to join the Outreach Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Perry Ward, Jr. Catherine later joined Holy Benton Temple Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Superintendent Lawrence C. O’Neal. She loved attending church whenever she could and served faithfully in the Kitchen Hospitality department until her health began to fail. She adored her pastor, first lady and church family.
Catherine worked at Stuttgart Regional Medical Center/Baptist Health for thirty-seven years and retired in 2008.
In November 1966, she married the love of her life, Edward “Punkin” Geans. They were married for thirty years until his passing in January 1997. To this union, four children were born. Through the years, she not only raised her children, but also some of her siblings, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On Monday, July 22, 2024, Catherine, affectionately known as “Danny”, transitioned from earthly sorrow into heavenly peace at her beloved home in Stuttgart.
