Carrie Keaton Obituary

Carrie James - Keaton was born on Wednesday, August 10, 1960 to Lula Fluker and Grenada Womack at Lee County Memorial Hospital in Marianna, Arkansas. She transitioned this life on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

She was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She received her education at Holly Grove High School, where she graduated with Honors in 1978. Carrie then attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for one year. Afterwards, she began her career at Riceland Foods in Stuttgart, Arkansas for 25+ years. She also worked at Lennox Inc and US Grain Inspection to name a few. Carrie loved writing, working in the garden, going to the casino, reading, cooking, and most importantly, FAMILY.

Carrie was a passionate person. She will be remembered for her BIG smile and her ‘tell it like it is’ personality, as well as always being sweet and caring. She most cherished the time she shared with friends and family and the writing of her books. She started her writing career in 2006. Carrie published three novels: Two Loves One Heart, Always in My Heart, and Dark Sibling. These books made her feel special and gave her personal life experiences, great fulfillment, and most importantly, they brought her happiness.

Carrie was a mother of two children Damarcus Parks and Daterrius Keaton and eleven bonus children. She was also a grandmother of three, Jeremiah Parks, Skylar Parks, and Maddison Parks, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Keaton, father Grenada Womack, grandparents Estellar James and John James, and step-daughter Carla Keaton.
