Annette Wofford Bufford was born November 1, 1948 to the late Scipio and Thelma Wofford in Casscoe, Arkansas. She transitioned from this life on May 27, 2024.
Annette accepted and professed her love for Christ at Wofford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Casscoe, Arkansas under the leadership of Reverend James Anderson. She relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and became a dedicated member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, an Usher, and a member of the Mission Society. She later relocated back to Arkansas and joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, under the leadership of Pastor C.E. Hawkins, Sr., and was a faithful member.
Annette attended Immanuel School in Almyra, Arkansas, followed by her high school years at Holman High School in Stuttgart, where she graduated with the Class of 1966. Continuing her education, she enrolled at AM&N College, presently known as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. During her college years, she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Annette graduated in 1970 and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she dedicated 35 years to the Milwaukee Public School System. While working as a teacher, she earned her Master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University.
Annette enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She also adored horses. She was a member of the Wofford Chapel Cemetery Committee, as well as the Key Extension Homemakers Club, where she served as the President.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents Scipio and Thelma Wofford; sisters Mary Hill and Feralene Foster; and nephew Matthew Strickland.
Annette leaves to cherish her memories brother Ray (Betty) Wofford of Casscoe, AR; sister Isabella (Warren) Strickland of Huntsville, AL; six nieces Toya Cooper of Mequon, WI, Tamekia Hampton of Conway, AR, Qiana Mayo of Jonesboro, AR, Ashley (Chris) Morelli of Tucson, AZ, Krystal Wofford of Alexander, AR, and Mary Strickland of Huntsville, AL; two nephews Ray Dodson of McKinney, TX and Leroy Foster, Jr. of Lonoke, AR; a special sister in love Laverne Wofford of Stuttgart, AR; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, relatives and friends
