Alford Sanders Obituary

Alford Ford Sanders, known by all as “Cheetah”, was born January 18, 1950. He was the second son born to the late Erma Lee Ford-Graham and V.D. Sanders in Altheimer, Arkansas. He departed this life on Tuesday evening, November 10, 2020 in the home of his beloved daughter and son-in-law Constance and Kenny Burlison in Humphrey, Arkansas.

He attended Altheimer Public Schools and later Holman School, when the family moved to Stuttgart, Arkansas.

On December 8, 1968 Alford was united in marriage to the late Ruby Reed-Sanders. To this union three children were born. She preceded him in death. On March 28, 2006 he married Lavern Reams-Sanders. Although no children were born, she had one daughter he affectionately called his own. Lavern also preceded him in death.

Alford had a love and passion for operating heavy equipment and worked many years for KenReg, Inc. Many reservoirs that are seen around Arkansas and many other counties were built by him. He also had a great love and admiration for all his siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Erma Ford-Graham and V.D. Sanders, grandparents Willie and Mary Ford, his first wife Ruby Reed Sanders, his second wife Lavern Reams-Sanders, uncle E.L. Ford, aunt Beatrice Ford, brother J.D. Gooseby, and grandson Trashawn Hicks-Sanders.

Alford leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Constance (Kenny) Burlison of Humphrey, AR; sons Dewayne (Erin) Sanders of Lawrence, KS and Troy Sanders of Stuttgart, AR; step-daughter Earlene Reams of Stuttgart, AR; four brothers Arthur “Choo” Neasley, Roy “Chubby” Miller, and Jonnell (Lucille) Graham, all of Stuttgart, AR, and Anthony Graham of McGehee, AR; four sisters Arleatha Davis, Lavern Strickland, and Denise Randolph, all of Stuttgart, AR, and Brunette Harris of Searcy, AR; aunt Bernice Sykes of St. Louis, MO; seven grandchildren; one special granddaughter Tamatha Sanders; eight step-grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three special nieces Shacaira Crudup, Dorian Randolph, and Inetta Reams; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends to mourn his passing.
