Mother Lee Willie Griffin was born on December 1, 1934 to the late Ellis Raphus Burks and the late Mary Qualls.
Mother Griffin was united in holy matrimony to Anderson J. Griffin, and to that union eleven children were born.
She was a Mother of Holy Benton Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Lawrence O’Neal where she remained a faithful member until she was called to her eternal home on March 3, 2018. She loved attending Sunday school and conversating with her Pastor before service each Sunday, and was extremely fond of her First Lady.
For over 30 years, she was the head cook for Rose Care Center, formerly known as Golden Years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking greens, fishing and spending time with her family. Mother Griffin was the life of the party, and was loved and entertained daily by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mother Griffin was preceded in death by her husband Anderson J. Griffin, two daughters Bridgette and Wanda, one son, and two sisters Costella Smith of Chicago, IL and Mammie Wesley of Stuttgart, AR.
Mother Griffin leaves to cherish her memory six daughters Delorise Ellis of Flint, MI; Carnetta (Harvey) Robinson, Yvette (Roosevelt) Colvin, and Annette (Norman) Reed, all of Stuttgart, AR; Julia Lawson of Little Rock, AR, and Yvonne (Mario) Bryant of Arlington, TX; two sons Anderson (Sharon) Griffin, Jr. and Henry (Kim) Griffin, both of Stuttgart, AR; three sisters Dorothy Young of Benecia, CA; Alberta Sanders of Jacksonville, AR; and Genevia Hill of Little Rock, AR; two brothers Ellis Burks and Edward Burks, both of North Little Rock, AR; thirty grandchildren, fifty-nine great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.
